Scrapping Jewish Life

In Judaism, there are so many moments where our faith intersects with our daily life, so much so that we often take it for granted.  One of the most meaningful things we can do is capture some of the routines for our scrapbooks...many years from now, the routines may or may not be the same and taking the time to remember them is something that I know my family cherishes.

For the last three years, my oldest daughter has been part of our temple's "Yad Squad".  Each year, during Yom Kippur, she chants her torah portion. As I'm cooking dinner, or doing laundry I can hear her practicing, it becomes just a part of our everyday life in the month prior to Yom Kippur. Her Tallit bag and iPod are often found in the living room where she likes to practice.  Obviously I can't photograph her during the services, so it is even more meaningful that I took the time to create this layout for her so that she will always remember how proud she made us by accepting this honor.  I hope you'll consider taking some time to create a layout about some of your Jewish routines...I know it's something that your family will cherish. :)

  1. this is beautiful, but more importantly, I love that you are remembering that your daughter is able to chant the Torah every year.
