Rosh Hashanah memories

Hannukah is getting really close but most of us still have High Holidays pictures to scrap. I used Rosh Hashanah papers and stickers to create this layout with pictures from our Rosh Hashanah dinner.

To make the banner I punched scalloped half circles and adhered them to the page with dimensional adhesive. I used a glue pen to draw a line on the top of the banner and added colored twine. The twine ends are tied around 2 brads. To finish my banner I added the circle stickers from the kit. Perfect!

Card Crazy :)

It's time to pull out your papers and scraps to make some Hannukah cards. I've created three cards to show you today, all of which use various snippets and small scraps of paper. All cards are 4x5".

First up is a card that features border strips, simply overlapped and covered with a journaling spot and sticker.

This next card uses a section of text paper, a border strip, and a small piece of solid paper that I cut with decorative scissors to create a simple border and to add some interest. I used a rub-on on the journaling sticker and also used a few of the stars, accented with rhinestones.


This last card uses one of the decorative blocks and four stickers. It was quick, and easy, to put together.

Hello from Wisconsin!

Hello everyone! I am so excited to be part of the Crafting Jewish Style Design Team! Few words about me. My name is Maya. We moved from Israel to Wisconsin 7 years ago. I have two beautiful girls 12 and 9 years old and one adorable baby boy that just turned 2. I discovered scrapbooking shortly after me moved to US and now it is much more than just a hobby for me. It is my creative outlet and my passion.

I love using the beautiful CJS products! I reach for them when I am working with the pictures from our holidays and celebrations but not only. In this layout I used the Rosh Hashanah collection to scrap the pictures from our trip to the apple farm last fall. I sponged the background with white acrylic paint and layered the papers and the pictures on the top. I wanted to add more blue so I cut out the circle from one of the Hanukkah papers, punched holes along the edge and weaved the ribbon through the holes. I added a flower ribbon and alphas from my stash and viola - the layout is done.

An Eventful New Year

Rosh HaShanah seems like it should be an uneventful holiday: you eat, you go to synagogue, you eat some more, etc. There isn't really much chance for things to happen. Or, so you would think. However, this year we had quite an eventful holiday: my son had an allergic reaction to a challah, we discovered a new synagogue, and we walked into a TV photo shoot while trying to do Tashlich. I would like to scrap some of these events, but since I don't have any photos I'm still pondering exactly how to aproach it.

Meanwhile I've started scrapping the holiday photos that I do have. Every year, we try to go apple picking just before Rosh HaShanah. As my son gets older, the fall gets busier, and it gets trickier to schedule. However, this year the holidays were so early that we were able to pick our high holiday apples on Labor Day.
